In 2015, shortly after being heritage consultant and expert witness for the Ordsall Chord public inquiry, Bernadette undertook a similar role on an application for remodelling works to Manchester Oxford Road station.
That project did not come to fruition, but options for improvements to the station are continuing to be developed. This unusual Grade II listed post-war station requires a particular design approach. Bernadette has recently supported the Network Rail team in achieving listed building consent for minor works to improve the gateline.
At the same time, a wider team is considering options for larger-scale improvements as part of the Manchester and North West Transformation Programme, which aims to improve connectivity, capacity and sustainable solutions for our future rail infrastructure.
